Produced by Dolphiners Films, the series shows esports champion Faker, whose real name is Lee Sang-hyuk, and K-pop star Karina of girl group aespa developing an awkward relationship through chance encounters at the library, the street, subway, PC bang (PC cafe) and a cafe.
The series especially featured shout-out moments to gaming fans, showing Faker with his signature "shushing" pose with his index finger on his mouth or him rolling on the subway floor.
Posters of the series will be posted in eastern Seoul's Seongsu-dong from Friday to Sunday, carrying QR codes that directly link viewers to the YouTube series.
"We came up with this campaign to spread the charms of mobile gaming and to cheer the many game players," said Google Play. "We hope this serves as a chance to spread the joys of playing games with Google Play Games and benefits on Google Play, together with Karina and Faker."
Since debuting as a professional gamer in 2013, Faker has been with the esports team T1 for 13 years. He has won six total League of Legends World Championship titles, including three consecutive victories.
Karina debuted as the leader of aespa in 2020. The group has released hit songs such as “Next Level” (2021), “Supernova” (2024) and “Whiplash” (2024).
