Prosecutors are under fire for their half-baked investigations after the Seoul Central District Court found former lawmaker Kwak Sang-do not guilty of bribery in the first trial last week even though his son took 5 billion won ($3.9 million) as severance pay from a suspicious Daejang-dong developer and after the Seoul Western District Court cleared Rep. Yoon Mi-hyang of most embezzlement charges as a representative of former wartime sex slaves. The prosecution vowed to bring them to justice no matter what, but the court rulings suggest it didn’t keep the promise.
