Saladent is the cheesiest example of Konglish that I have yet encountered during my six years in Korea (“Worried Workers Taking Refuge in the Classroom,” Jan. 15). It sounds more like a dietary seasoning for salads or a salty toothpaste than a workaholic overachiever (“salary man” plus “student,” readers are informed). Why do you reinforce that absurdity?
Koreans love to boast that Hangeul is the most scientific writing system in the world; one would hope that Koreans could apply the same standards to their English usage.
