[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Sub-‘hub’-quality service

I have just spent an extremely frustrating few hours looking for credit for my LG cell phone. At the local LG shop, they informed me that because it was 6:35 p.m., they could not give me credit. I asked in Korean where I could get credit, and they shrugged. In Japan, it is possible to get phone credit 24 hours a day from convenience stores and ATM machines.

Maybe this is possible here, too, but if so, why don’t LG staff know about it? Korea’s obsession with becoming a regional “hub” is viewed by expats who have to live and work here as nothing more than a joke.
