[LETTERS TO THE EDITOR]Resort areas ripoff sites

Some of my friends and I traveled to Gangwon province recently. A man showed up from nowhere as we were parking at a resort, asking for a parking fee of 1,000 won.

I called the county government office. An official there said the land was not a for-fee parking site. I told the man as much. But he said we should either pay or leave.

This was not the first time I was ripped off at a vacation resort. Vacationers are annoyed by residents around resorts who only try to cheat visitors from out of town.
