The college tuition fight entered a second round after Democratic Party Chairman Sohn Hak-Kyu started supporting a universal 50 percent cut to compete against Grand National Party floor leader Hwang Woo-yea’s proposal for a 50 percent cut for students in the lower 50 percent income bracket with above B grade averages. Chung Dong-young, a DP Supreme Council member, favors free college education.
