Interalia Art Company, which has focused on introducing young post-Cultural Revolution Chinese artists to Korea, is holding a solo show of Chinese artist Guan Yong at its gallery in Samseong-dong, southern Seoul.
It shows 30 paintings and one sculpture by the 38-year-old artist. Most of the paintings depict one man or two with bookshelves crammed with books of various colors behind.
The artist told the reporters, “I have a lot of books and the more books I read, the more distant I feel from reality. Maybe that’s why I read.”
The exhibition runs until Feb. 21. Admission is free.
