Koreatech to launch master’s program with ILO training center
The English-language program combines online study, six weeks on campus and a capstone project for vocational education professionals.

Korea University of Technology and Education (Koreatech) will offer a new master’s program in technical and vocational education and training in partnership with the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO), the university said Thursday.
The Master in TVET for the Digital Economy program will begin in January next year and run in a hybrid format, combining online and in-person classes.
The program is designed for bachelor’s degree holders, including vocational education and training educators and trainers, government and public-sector officials and corporate human resources professionals, as well as those seeking to build international expertise in the field.
It will consist of online coursework, six weeks of in-person classes at the Koreatech campus and a capstone project.
During the online portion, students will use ITCILO’s online learning platform and participate in live video lectures covering topics including Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) systems and digital transformation, instructional design for digital vocational education, inclusive digital skills development and research methodologies for innovation in vocational education and training.
The six-week intensive course at Koreatech will combine hands-on training, discussions, team projects and visits to companies and relevant institutions, allowing students to explore digital innovation in TVET.
Students will then complete a capstone project under the guidance of faculty members and experts from both institutions, focusing on challenges facing TVET systems in their home countries or organizations.
Courses will cover topics including TVET systems and digital transformation, inclusive pathways for digital skills development, and skills and labor market intelligence. All classes will be conducted in English.
Students who complete 30 credits will receive a master’s degree from Koreatech, with the certificate also carrying recognition from ITCILO.
The program costs 9,900 euros ($11,420), with Koreatech offering scholarships covering up to 30 percent of tuition after reviewing applicants’ qualifications and professional experience.
The first application deadline is Sept. 28, followed by a final deadline of Nov. 30. Applications can be submitted through ITCILO’s application system.
