KF-16 fighter jet crashes in Seosan, pilot ejects safely

A KF-16 fighter jet crashed while taking off for a daily mission from the 20th Fighter Wing in Seosan, South Chungcheong, at around 8:20 a.m. Thursday.
The Korean Air Force said the fighter pilot safely ejected before crashing and has been transferred to a hospital.
No civilian damage was reported because the crashing site was within the base perimeter.
The Air Force formed an emergency response unit led by Lt. Gen. Lee Sang-hak, vice chief of staff of the Air Force, to probe into the incident.
