Stray Kids’ Changbin donates 100 million won for children on birthday

Changbin, a member of boy band Stray Kids, donated 100 million won ($70,700) for pediatric patients on his birthday on Tuesday, according to his agency JYP Entertainment.

Of the donated funds, 50 million won will be used to treat child patients at Samsung Medical Center in southern Seoul. The remaining half will fund psychological support programs for the patients’ families.

“Thanks to profound love and support that I have received from fans, I have become able to help those in need on my birthday,” Changbin said. “I hope my heartfelt support reaches where it is needed and brings them hope.”

Changbin has continuously participated in charitable actions. In 2023, he donated 100 million won for those affected by the earthquake in Syria and Turkey. He also donated another 100 million won to Samsung Medical Center on his birthday last year.

Stray Kids released EP “This & That” last Friday. The group will perform at MUFG Stadium in Tokyo as part of its world tour “Run it” in late August. It is set to become the first foreign male act to hold a solo concert at the venue.

The boy band, including Changbin, debuted in 2018. The eight-member boy band is best known for songs such as “God’s Menu” (2020), “Thunderous” (2021), “Maniac” (2022) and “Walkin on Water” (2024).
