Riize’s Wonbin voted best fit for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 ambassadorship

Boy band Riize’s Wonbin has been selected by fan-voting platform Picnic as the K-pop artist best suited to serve as an ambassador for Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 8 smartphone.

In a poll that ran from July 22 through Aug. 5, Wonbin ranked No. 1 with 26,945 votes. ZeroBaseOne’s Seok Matthew followed with 26,080 votes, while virtual boy band Plave’s Noah placed third with 21,718 votes.

Wonbin has long been seen using Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones. The artist has also posted photos and other social media content taken with a Galaxy phone, and some of the posts have gained significant traction among K-pop fans, according to Picnic.

Wonbin also participated in promotional content for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 preorder campaign.

Samsung Galaxy products were also featured in promotional content for Riize’s first full-length album.

“Recently, in the global advertising market, natural connections between an artist’s lifestyle and a brand have become just as important as the artist’s recognition,” a Picnic spokesperson said. “Wonbin’s selection is an example of how his long-standing image as a Galaxy user, combined with his promotional activities, has translated into a strong brand fit.”

Picnic hosts weekly polls on a wide range of K-pop topics in collaborations with the Korea JoongAng Daily.

Participation in the polls is available through Picnic’s official website and mobile app.
