Park Ji-hoon cancels Shanghai fan meeting amid 2026 Asia tour

Singer and actor Park Ji-hoon, who recently gained wider recognition through the local box office hit "The King's Warden," called off a fan meeting in Shanghai scheduled for September, his agency announced Thursday.

No specific reason for the cancellation was given. 

"We regret to inform the '2026 Park Ji Hoon China Fanmeeting [Re:Flect] In Shanghai' has been called off due to an unavoidable conflict," YY Entertainment said in an official statement. "We sincerely appreciate everyone who supports Park Ji-hoon and his upcoming fan concerts in Asia, and we extend our deepest apologies to his fans in Shanghai for this inconvenience." 

Park has been visiting fans in Asia since May, starting with Tokyo; then Seoul; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Ho Chi Min and Hanoi, Vietnam; Hong Kong; Taipei, Taiwan; Bangkok, Thailand; and Singapore. He is slated to visit Macao on Saturday and Jakarta, Indonesia on Aug. 29. 

The artist had also intended to hold a fan meet in Manila, but the event was moved to Macao last month. No specific reason was provided for this change as well. 

Park first debuted as a child actor in the fantasy sageuk (historical drama) series "Jumong" (2006). He subsequently forayed into music, appearing on season two of K-pop survival show "Produce 101" (2016–) in 2017. He placed second in the show, securing his official K-pop debut, as the show promises its winners, in the same year through a project boy band dubbed Wanna One. He has since embarked on solo projects, releasing his first album "O'Clock" in 2019. Park has also continued acting through drama series "Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency" (2019), "Weak Hero" (2022) and "Love Song for Illusion" (2024). His biggest success, however, is arguably his lead part in "The King's Warden," directed by Jang Hang-jun. The period drama movie topped 16 million admissions at the domestic box office, currently ranking as the second-most-watched film of all time in the country.
