Actor Kim Soo-hyun, who had suspended his career following allegations related to his relationship with the late actor Kim Sae-ron, is now making a full-fledged return to the public eye with an overseas fan meet and greet after recently resuming commercial shoots.

Kim Soo-hyun is scheduled to hold a fan meet and greet at SM Mall of Asia Arena on Oct. 2, said Filipino fashion brand Bench on Tuesday. The event will be open to around 20,000 fans.

The actor, who is the public face of the brand, shared an update in a video posted on Bench’s social media account on Sunday.

“I’ve missed you all so much,” said Kim Soo-hyun in the video. “I’m truly happy to be back with Bench and to see you again. I hope you’re excited for what’s coming with Bench.”

Kim Soo-hyun stepped away from the spotlight last year after the family of the late Kim Sae-ron as well as Kim Se-ui, operator of the YouTube channel HoverLab, claimed that he had been in a relationship with the late actor while she was still a minor. Kim Soo-hyun denied the allegations and pursued legal action.

Police decided last month not to refer the cases — which alleged that he violated the Child Welfare Act and made false accusations to prosecutors — due to insufficient evidence.

Kim Se-ui is currently indicted in custody on charges including defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
