Girl group Lightsum to celebrate fifth anniversary with fan meet and greet

Girl group Lightsum said that it hopes to create more fond memories with its fans as it celebrated the fifth anniversary of its debut on Wednesday. 

"I can't believe five years have passed since the debut that I had dreamed of," Lightsum's leader, Sangah, said in a press release on Wednesday. 

"I want to keep making lots of new memories together with Sumit," she continued, referring to the name of the group's fandom.

In celebration of its five-year anniversary, the sextet will hold a fan meet and greet at Cube Entertainment's headquarters in Seongdong District, eastern Seoul, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. 

The other five members — Chowon, Nayoung, Hina, Jihyeon and Yujeong — echoed Sangah's sentiments. 

"The moment when we debuted and first met Sumit still feels so vivid, but it's already our fifth anniversary," Chowon said. "Sumit, my treasures, I'm always grateful for you, and I love you so much." 

"I'm so grateful to the members and to Sumit for running by [my] side all this way. I hope that we keep making all kinds of memories together," Nayoung said.

"These five years with Sumit have led to such happy memories. I'll keep working so that Sumit can be happy as well," Hina said.

"Thanks to our fans, I have been so happy for the past five years," Juhyeon said. "I want to be an artist […] for a long, long time." 

"We've come this far thanks to Sumit. I'm always grateful for you," Yujeong said.

Lightsum debuted under Cube Entertainment with its first single album "Vanilla" on June 10, 2021. Originally an octet, it has performed as a six-member since October 2022, when Huiyeon and Jian left.
