Surcharges take off again

International flights booked for September will be subject to a fuel surcharge increase as the extended conflict in the Middle East has pushed up aviation fuel prices. For Korean Air, the fuel surcharge will rise by as much as 94,800 won ($67) per one-way ticket, or 189,600 won for a round trip fare, depending on the destination. Asiana Airlines will charge between 52,000 won and 290,100 won, up from 36,600 won to 202,900 won for August. [YONHAP]
