SK Telecom, the nation’s No. 1 mobile carrier, said yesterday it signed a deal with China’s Zonekey Group to provide smart classroom solutions to 1,300 classes in China at its headquarters in Euljiro, central Seoul.
It also agreed to a strategic partnership with the Chinese company on joint projects to develop new smart classroom products.
Zonekey Group, the No. 3 company in terms of market share in the lecturing solutions market, provides education support services to about 20,000 schools in China.
The two companies will operate a joint task force to plan and develop new products for advanced smart classrooms and will launch a strategy to increase demand for smart classroom materials in China.
SK Telecom’s smart classroom solutions, which combine its mobile device management solution with start-up i-Kaist’s smart learning program Schoolbox, help students and teachers interact during class by connecting tablet PCs to the electronic blackboard to share information.
